After an activity is generated, you can change any slide: edit its text, move elements around, add new slides, and reorder them. This article covers the most common edits in the activity editor.

If you can view an activity but not edit it, you won't see the Add Slide button, the insert gaps between slides, or drag-to-reorder. Ask the activity owner for edit access.

Open the activity editor

  1. Open the lesson or your library and select the activity you want to change.

  2. Open it in the editor. The slide sidebar appears on the left.

The top of the sidebar shows the activity title and format. Below it are a back button (Back to lesson or Back to library, depending on where the activity lives) and the Add Slide button. A slide count sits at the bottom.

To work on a slide, click its thumbnail in the sidebar. In edit mode, all slides appear in one continuous scrolling view, so you can also just scroll to the slide you want. Use the editor's preview option to see a slide as students will see it, and switch back to edit mode to keep making changes.

Edit elements

Everything on a slide, such as text, images, tables and activities, is an element you can select and change.

Edit text

  1. Click the text block you want to change.

  2. Click into the text and type.

  3. Select a word or phrase to bring up the formatting toolbar next to your selection.

    Move and resize

    • Click an element to select it, then drag it to a new position. A click that moves less than a few pixels counts as a click, not a drag, so small accidental movements won't shift your element.

    • Drag a handle on the selected element to resize it.

    • While you drag or resize, alignment guides appear and the element snaps to line up with other elements on the slide. Use them to keep things aligned.

    • Click an empty area of the slide to deselect.

AI-generated slides start with a layout built by the system. After it settles, you can drag and resize every element freely.

      Copy, duplicate and paste

  4. Right-click the element. The Element actions menu opens.

  5. Choose one of the following:

    • Copy (Ctrl+C on Windows, ⌘C on Mac)
    • Duplicate (Ctrl+D, or ⌘D on Mac)
    • Paste (Ctrl+V, or ⌘V on Mac)
  6. To close the menu without choosing anything, press Escape or click outside it.

Paste is greyed out until you've copied an element. Use Copy and Paste to move an element to another slide: copy it, open the other slide, and paste.

Manage slides

Add a slide from a template

  1. Click Add Slide in the sidebar. To place the new slide at a specific spot, hover between two thumbnails and use the insert control that appears there, or use the gap after the last slide.

  2. In the template window, pick a template. Templates are grouped by category, each with a thumbnail showing its layout. Templates you've used recently appear at the top under Recently used, up to five of them.

  3. Click a template. The slide is created with its elements already in place, and you can edit them like any other slide.

Some templates are greyed out and can't be selected. A template is unavailable when it contains element types the activity's format doesn't support. Hover over it to see the reason, which lists the unsupported elements.

If the templates don't load, click **Try again**. While a slide is being created, the window can't be closed. Wait for it to finish.

    **Duplicate a slide**

Open the options menu on a slide's thumbnail in the sidebar and choose to duplicate it. This is useful for making a similar slide, or for keeping a safe copy before you make big changes.

    **Reorder slides**

  4. Drag a thumbnail in the sidebar to its new position.

  5. Drop it. The new order is saved right away.

Slides that are variants of another slide appear indented under it, and they move together with it. If the new order can't be saved, an error message appears and you can try the drag again.

    **Delete a slide**

Open the options menu on the thumbnail and choose delete. A confirmation window appears. Click **Delete** to remove the slide or **Cancel** to keep it. Because a delete can't be taken back from this window, duplicate the slide first if you're unsure.
